Wayfaring Psychological Wellness offers individual outpatient psychotherapy services, with sessions lasting approximately 55 minutes in length. Specializing in the treatment of adults ranging from emerging adults to older adults, Dr. Dufford welcomes anyone age 19 and beyond.
Fees
Dr. Dufford currently accepts Aetna, Highmark/Blue Cross Blue Shield, UPMC, United, Optum, private pay, and Out-Of-Network for some insurance carriers.
Getting Started
During the initial phone call, clients can expect to discuss briefly their concerns and needs. Other logistics may also be addressed, including scheduling as well as the client’s preferred payment method. For those using insurance, benefits will be verified prior to the initial session in order to determine cost sharing (such as coinsurance and/or copayment).
Prior to your first appointment, you will be provided initial paperwork to complete in advance of your first session via secure online portal. If you prefer, documents can be sent to you via mail upon request.
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation phase lasts between one and three sessions, and provides you space to discuss your presenting concerns, goals for treatment, and to ask questions. Dr. Dufford will also guide the session by asking questions to gain a further understanding of your life, both past and present. Dr. Dufford will also help orient you to the psychotherapy process, including describing her style, offering treatment goals and recommendations as necessary, and discussing next steps. From there, you and Dr. Dufford will determine whether continued meetings would be the best fit for you.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations or rescheduling must be done at least 24 hours in advance of one’s appointment by calling (412) 253-7125 at anytime. When in-person sessions resume, the late cancellation/no show fee will be waived should clients experience onset of COVID-19 related symptoms less than 24 hours prior to their appointment.
